Senior Infants had great fun on our Teddy Bear Picnic!
The 6th class students said their “emotional” farewell to St. Kevin’s today. After a very even and “fair” rounders match against the teachers in front of the whole school, they got a guard of honour as they left the school grounds for the last time as students.
In the video below you will find some of the highlights of their day and memorable moments from the rounders match.
Congratulations to all the sixth class students on their graduation this evening and we look forward to hearing of their continued success in the future.
We had a brilliant day in Airfield Farm on our school tour!
Over the past few weeks, the classes have been discussing their favourite moments and memories of the year. In the video below, you will see some of the students’ favourite memories from the year.
Thank you to all the students for participating in the video and the teachers for helping to put it all together!
Ms. Murtagh’s class had a World Cup feast today! There are 32 children in the class so each child was given a team that is taking part in the World Cup. Everyone had to cook or bake something traditional from the country assigned to them. They had Belgian Waffles, Cocadas from Chile, Easter bread from Croatia, Blini from Russia, Frankfurters from Germany, sponge cake from England, honey bread from Brazil, tortillas and dips from Mexico and Honduras, French Brioche, pesto pasta from Italy, chocolate chip cookies from the USA, Fairy Bread from Australia, Sushi from Japan, tropical fruit salad from the Ivory Coast, Basboussa cake from Algeria, Dutch apple cake, Tres Leches from Costa Rica and much more! They had great fun tasting everything and learning about different cultures.
The St. Kevin’s hurling team played a 5 team end of year tournament in Rathdrum yesterday. In the sweltering heat, we had some great results beating Talbotstown and St. Cronan’s.
A well done to the Rathdrum team who won the overall tournament. We look forward to renewing the rivalries at the top of the Wicklow Schools Hurling League next year.
On Friday the 13th of June, the two 5th classes went on their school tour to Zipit. From high wires to ziplines, the pupils had a go of everything.
The initiation and safety exercise was at a very low height but even so, the excitement was sky high. Within an hour, some of the class were zip wiring across 500 metres of a forest, 30 feet up in the air.
A great day out was had by all and a special thank you to the parents and teachers who came along to help and most importantly, the instructors at Zipit!!
Have a look at our video featuring some of the highlights of the day!
