Ms. Murtagh’s 4th class LOVE Halloween! Check out our videos. In the first video you will get to see our costumes and our clay ghouls. We were inspired to make these clay ghouls after we read the poem “The Ghoul School Bus” by Brian Moses. In the second video you will see some of us reading out Halloween poems that we wrote ourselves! Happy Halloween from room 13, everyone! Have a fantastic midterm and stay safe on Halloween night!

Post of the Week Winner

Congratulation to Florence who won the post of the week with the following very insightful post

“I had great fun at the National Gallery!
My favourite paintings were…..all of them!
If I had to pick one, it would have to be ‘Grief’, because it was very nice and colourful and you had to look really carefully to try and figure it out!! It was really COOL! I also loved Pablo Picasso, ‘A Still Life with A Mandolin’. It’s a very different style to all the other paintings. The gallery is being renovated at the moment, but there are loads of paintings from different times in art history still on show. It’s a really beautiful building and very modern.
Thankyou sooooooooo much Ms.Murthagh for taking us to the National Gallery!!!And also thank you Kim and Mummy for helping!”

Get posting and the next winner could be you!!

Girls’ Football Blitz

On the 22nd of October, the fifth and sixth class ladies footballers took to Bray Emmets’ grounds to play in the Cumann na mBunscoil Wicklow Times Shield. We entered two teams; Team 1 played 4 games and Team 2 played 3 games. The girls may not have won all their matches but they definitely put all their effort into the games they played. There was great team spirit and determination.

After the games, Ms. Brennan presented an ‘Imreoir den Scoth’ award to the most talented player on each team. For team 1, Andrea Hanlon from Mr. Flynn’s class was chosen and, for team 2, Sarah Lucey in Mr. McNeice’s class. It was a very tough decision for Ms. Brennan but we think she made the right decision in the end as both girls were amazing on the day!

Overall, although we were exhausted after all the games, we had so much fun and are looking forward to the next blitz on the 5th of November. A big thank you to Ms. Brennan and Mrs. O’Flaherty for bringing us to the games and cheering us on.
