30d9bf2550b4337602c78e09357a72eb

If there is one thing that teachers love on cold days, it is a nice warm cup of tea or coffee! Any good staffroom needs to be stacked full of cups and mugs!

This week, we’re asking you to guess the total number of cups and mugs in the St. Kevin’s staffroom?

You have until next Friday morning to enter. The first student to get it right gets a night off written homework! Good luck everyone!

Question of the Week – ‘How many?!’

eds047

It has been a very cold week in Greystones, with both teachers and students wrapped up in all sorts of coats, hats, scarves and gloves. We’ve been finding woolly clothes everywhere!

This week, we’re asking you to guess the total number of both hats and scarves that have been worn by all of the teachers?

You have until next Friday morning to enter. The first student to get it right gets a night off written homework! Good luck everyone!

Aistear Adventures in Room 3!

We have been having lots of fun during Aistear! Here are just some of activities we took part in during our first term in Senior Infants! We set up a restaurant, a witch set up her lair in our classroom and we even sold a few houses along the way!

Congratulations to Dillon from Mr. McCarthy’s 2nd class who won last week’s ‘Question of the Week’ competition. He guessed correctly that Mr. O’Neill was the teacher who had gotten Pie Face as a Christmas present and earned himself a homework pass!

Well done to everyone who entered! Will you be the next winner? Make sure you keep an eye on the blog for the next ‘Question of the Week’.

5th Class Primary Science Fair

P1030499On Saturday 9th of January, Miss Griffin’s 5th class presented our science project at the Primary Science Fair in the RDS as part of the BT Young Scientist Exhibition. The name of our project was “Do video games have an impact on heart rate, reflexes and mood?”. Our project proved to be very popular, there was always at least one person at our stall asking us questions about our project.

Everyone did extremely well, the judge and many other people commented on how hard our class had worked, how we worked very well as a team, and how we had such interesting and creative ideas for future projects.

I must say, I was very proud of every single one of you for all your hard work, both in class and on the day in the RDS, well done!
